About Ikkat Sarees
Ikkat is a traditional textile technique in which the yarns are carefully resist-dyed before weaving to create distinctive patterns. The alignment of the dyed yarns during weaving produces the characteristic blurred or geometric effect associated with Ikkat textiles.
Traditional Ikkat designs can feature geometric patterns, stripes, checks, diamonds and nature-inspired motifs, depending on the weaving style and saree.
